Diwali 2027: date and Lakshmi Puja muhurat

Diwali 2027 falls on 29 October 2027. The Lakshmi Puja muhurat below is computed for each city from its own sunset, because the window is decided by the tithi at pradosh and that moment is not the same in Mumbai and Kolkata.

Lakshmi Puja muhurat by city

City	From	To
Delhi	18:35	20:30
Mumbai	19:08	21:08
Bengaluru	18:58	21:00
Hyderabad	18:48	20:49
Chennai	18:47	20:49
Kolkata	18:01	19:59
Pune	19:05	21:05
Ahmedabad	19:03	21:01

How these dates are decided

A festival is dated by the tithi running at sunrise, which is how a panchang names a day. An observance done in the evening - Dhanteras and Lakshmi Puja - is decided by the tithi at pradosh instead, because a tithi lasts about 23 hours 37 minutes and the one at sunset is often the next one. Local panchangs can still differ by a day; where yours does, follow it.
